FIELD NOTES · OCTOBER 27, 2026

A little structure. A better session.

Original editorial practice frameworks. These are not tested boss strategies or numerical build rankings.

01 / LEARNING AN ENCOUNTER

Give each attempt one question.

Choose a single problem: a move you cannot read, an attack you keep overcommitting to, or a moment when healing feels unsafe. Write that question before entering the fight.

  1. Spend an attempt observing the cue you chose.
  2. Change one response, then try again with the same setup.
  3. Record what happened in your own words. A clear failure can still be useful.
  4. Stop at a sensible point and leave one specific next step.

Your journal records a whole session. Attempts are your entered count; a defeated result means the session ended with a victory, not that every attempt succeeded.

02 / EQUIPMENT EXPERIMENTS

Change one thing you can explain.

Give each saved loadout a name that describes the question: a different defensive option, a more comfortable stance, or a resource you want to preserve. Mark actual ownership separately from a planned acquisition.

Use the notes for upgrades, spark choices, curios, drinks and anything outside the starter catalog. Before fighting, verify costs and skill restrictions in the game. The website is a planning notebook, not a combat simulator.

A journal entry keeps the setup as it was when you saved it. Editing or deleting a loadout later does not rewrite earlier sessions.

03 / COMING BACK AFTER A BREAK

Make the next visit easy.

Check the active journey first. Read your last session, choose one unfinished encounter, and review the chapter’s warnings before advancing. Set spoiler visibility to your current chapter if you want to keep later discoveries hidden.

Keep different playthroughs separate. Before clearing browser data or changing devices, download a backup or explicitly save an account copy. Signing in alone does not upload your progress.

When starting a new game cycle, decide that in the game yourself after reviewing unfinished content. Creating a new website journey only creates an empty notebook.
